Книга Д. Р. Киплинга «Маугли» — мудрая и поучительная сказка. Удивительная история маленького мальчика, воспитанного волками, раскрывает исконные законы природы, принуждает задуматься над ценностями человеческой жизни.
Человеческий детеныш, очутившись в джунглях, не погиб, потому что нашел верных и надежных друзей. Друзья эти — звери. Но Киплинг не наделяет их чертами людей, как это бывает в народных сказках. Все они — мыслящие существа и действуют в зависимости от обстоятельств в соответствии с законами природы.
Вместе с Маугли мы познаем Законы Джунглей и понимаем, что они во многом полезны и людям. Например, убивать зверей можно лишь ради питания, уважать законы каждого общества (стаи) , уважать того, кого встретишь на тропинке в джунглях, считаться с наукой более мудрых.
Сказка учит нас быть верными в дружбе, смелыми и честными, уважать тех, кто дал жизнь и воспитал. А еще дает возможность понять, что природа — дом человека, потому его нужно беречь, пытаться жить в согласии с окружающим миром.
