Первым музыкальным организацией в Перми стал музыкальный кружок, организованный в 1874 году известным пермским виолончелистом Константином Флегонтовичем Сперанским. В 1909 году певец Александр Дмитриевич Городцов организовал в Перми филармоническое общество, с которого началось открытие — Пермской краевой филармонии.

В центре города располагается концертный органный зал Пермской краевой филармонии. Помимо органа, зал оборудован профессиональным концертным роялем «Стэнвей».
