Существуют ли «естественные пределы» роста курса национальной валюты?

«Естественные пределы», конечно, существуют. Известен такой факт, что если национальная валюта переоценена, то возникают проблемы в промышленном секторе. Конкуренты из-за рубежа, пользуясь тем, что их производственные издержки относительно ниже, начинают давить на национальное производство, наращивая экспорт. Заканчивается это тем, что разрушается платежный баланс, тормозится рост экономики и происходит девальвация. Движение курса определяется двумя силами. Во-первых, рыночными. То есть спросом на национальную валюту со стороны частного и государственного сектора и предложением со стороны экспортеров, населения, иностранных инвесторов и банков. Во-вторых, спросом со стороны ЦБ, который руководствуется соображениями денежно-кредитной политики.
