Ближе к Чижовскому водохранилищу особенно много становится водоплавающих птиц. Здесь настоящий рай для орнитологов! Среди прочих довольно обычных видов типа лысухи мне удалось запечатлеть на фотокамеру красноголового нырка — большую и достаточно редкую утку с красной головой и такими же глазами. Да что утки! Недавно наткнулся на информацию, что в свислочских болотах водились… крокодилы! Очень похожие на этих рептилий крупные ящерицы длиной до полуметра встречались даже в Татарском болоте (на месте нынешнего Дворца спорта). Последний минский «крокодил» был пойман в 1885 году. Его чучело долгое время хранилось в кабинете директора одного из городских реальных училищ.
