В США отсутствует единая государственная система образования, каждый штат вправе определять ее структуру самостоятельно , в то время как в Молдове единая система образования . Структура системы образования в Молдове выстроена по уровням, ступеням и циклам:
a) раннее воспитание и дошкольное образование;
b) I уровень - начальное образование;
c) II уровень - гимназическое образование;
d) III уровень:
- лицейское образование;
- профессионально-техническое образование (профессиональное училище);
e) IV уровень - профессионально-техническое образование (колледж);
f) V уровень - высшее образование:
- I цикл: высшее образование лиценциат;
- II цикл: высшее образование мастерат;
g) VI уровень - докторантура и постдокторантура .
В систему образования США входят: • дошкольные учреждения, где воспитываются дети в возрасте 3-5 лет; • начальная школа (1-8 классы), в которой обучаются дети в возрасте 6-13 лет, • средняя школа (9-12 классы) юноши и девушки в возрасте 14-17 лет;
Система оценок в Америке буквенная: А – 15% учащихся – высокий уровень готовности. В – 25% учащихся – уровень, откровенно более высокий, чем средний (хорошо). С – 35 % учащихся – средний уровень . Д – 15 % учащихся – минимальный уровень знаний (ниже среднего). F – 10% учащихся – неудовлетворительные результаты. В Молдове в учебных заведениях знания оцениваются по 10-балльной системе, а также отметками "зачет", "незачет". Отметками 4, 3, 2, 1 и "незачет" знания признаются неудовлетворительными.
