the british education system a very long history, but in the last few years, it has happened a lot of changes.british education has traditionally been decentralized but now act on the educational reform has led to the establishment of a national curriculum for students from 5 to 16 years in the public schools act ofaims to give the parents a wider choice of schools for their children.in most schools, boys and girls learn together. most children enjoy free education, financed by public funds, while 7 per cent of children are enrolled in private fee paying schools.all british universities have full academic freedom the old ones of which oxford and cambridge. these two universities, existing in the middle ages, actually consist of many colleges.each of which has its own teachers, and offers its own training courses. more than 90% of students receive scholarships, covering tuition and cost of living.
