«Король говорит» (The King`s Speech) — фильм основан на реальных событиях, которые разворачиваются в 30-е годы двадцатого века и повествует о непростом периоде в жизни принца Альберта — герцога Йорского, будущего короля Великобритании Георга VI. После смерти отца — короля Георга V и отказа старшего брата Эдуарда VIII от прав на трон, Георг вынужден занять пустующие место монарха.

Принц Альберт с детства страдает от заикания, и со временем этот недуг становится причиной появления у него некоторых проблем психологического характера, мешающих нормально жить и, несомненно, негативно сказывающихся на имидже королевского наследника. Он не только избегает выступлений на публике, но так же всячески сторонится общения с людьми. У принца нет друзей, свободное время он проводит в обществе жены Елизаветы и двух маленьких дочек.
