По результатам множества опросов телезрителей Гордон неоднократно признавался одним из лучших современных российских телеведущих. Создатель и постоянный ведущий телепрограмм «Гордон», «Закрытый показ», «Гордон Кихот», «Гражданин Гордон», в разное время работавший на телеканалах «НТВ» и «Первом». Помимо телевизионной карьеры, Гордон в качестве кинорежиссёра снял несколько полнометражных художественных фильмов, почти все из которых были основаны на произведениях его отца.
Родился в семье поэта и художника Гарри Борисовича Гордона и мед работницы Антонины Дмитриевны Стриги .
Практически сразу же после рождения сына Гарри Борисович оставил его с матерью и бабушкой. Когда мальчику исполнилось четыре года, его мать познакомилась с Николаем Чининым, который позже, женившись на Антонине Дмитриевне, заменил ему отца.

В 1987 году окончил актёрское отделение Театрального училища им. Щукина.

В 1993 году создал компанию «Wostok Entertainment».
