Для совершенствования свайных фундаментов и создания альтернативы забивным сваям, специалистами ОАО "Буровая компания "Дельта" был проанализирован зарубежный и отечественный опыт устройства буронабивных свай.Основным направлением было выбрано разработка технологии устройства свай с уширенной пятой. Эта технология разрабатывалась в расчете на массовое устройство свай в сложных геологических условиях (слабых глинистых или песчаных, в том числе в водонасыщенных грунтах). Технический результат заключался в создании высокотехнологичного способа сооружения свай с уширением, обеспечивающего значительную несущую способность свай в грунте, с соблюдением экономического эффекта (заявка на патент №201600052)

Уширение в основании сваи увеличивает несущую способность, а относительно небольшой диаметр тела сваи (375 мм, 475 мм и 600 мм) значительно экономит бетон. Техническая и экономическая целесообразность устройства фундаментов на сваях с уширенной пятой несомненна, в следствии значительного увеличения их несущей способности, сокращения времени устройства и экономии затраченного материла. В мировой практике известны различные способы устройства свай с уширением. Это сваи разбуриваемые специальным уширителем механического действия, известны способы создания уширения взрывом (камуфлетное уширение), а также ударами. Однако широкого распространения такие сваи до сих пор не получили ввиду отсутствия эффективной технологии их устройства и возможности контроля качества получаемого уширения.
