Популярный лондонский театр «Альгам

Популярный лондонский театр «Альгамбра» был построен в 1854 году.Открыт 18 марта 1854 года. Назван в честь дворца Альгамбра в Гранаде.В семидесятых-восьмидесятых годах XIX века в театре в основном ставятся оперетты и музыкальные комедии («Уиттингтон» Оффенбаха, 1874 г.; «Нищий студент» Миллекера, 1884 г.).
В 1882 году здание было разрушено в результате пожара и восстановлено лишь через два года под названием «Театр Альгамбра».
С конца восьмидесятых годов в «Театре Альгамбра» вновь давались мюзик-холльные представления, ревю, балетные обозрения, спектакли варьете.
В начале XX века здесь проходили выступления артистов «Русских сезонов».
В 1936 году театр был закрыт — здание использовалось как кинотеатр. Позднее здание было снесено.
