По мнению Международного института стратегических исследований, проблема глобализации непосредственно связана с возможностями международных организаций обеспечить стабильность и безопасность в мире. В современных условиях обеспечение безопасности зависит от нахождения способа координации политики разных стран на мировом уровне с целью обнаружения возникающих очагов опасности. При этом могут быть задействованы новые международные институты и новые методы.
